Please Consider Donating Your Extra Scrapbooking Supplies

Hello,

I have been in contact with an organization in Ottawa called Cornerstone. I offered to donate some of my extra scrapbooking supplies since my “donate” box is getting full since COVID has prevented me from making any donations in two years!

I chose Cornerstone because my son’s school is doing a fundraiser for them and I read about it in the high school newsletter. Here is a little information on Cornerstone.

Vision: Every woman has a safe and affordable home in a community which supports her to reach her full potential.

Mission: Cornerstone provides emergency shelter and supportive housing for a diversity of women. Our services are offered in an environment which promotes dignity and a sense of hope. We are committed to public education and advocacy, and strive to increase safe, supportive housing and to end homelessness.

They seem genuinely interested in receiving our donations. Here is an excerpt from their reply email,

This sounds like a wonderful donation and one that our residents would truly appreciate! I will mention that we do not serve children or families, only adult women, but we are always very happy to receive donated craft supplies as many of [our] residents do love crafting.

If you would like to donate some of your scrapbooking supplies, please let me know. Donations can be dropped off in Kingston at the home of Laura Belfie Brady, for those of you in the Kingston area, and at my house in Orleans. I can also pick up your items, particularly if I typically make deliveries to your house (next delivery day is a week from today, Wednesday, March 23). To arrange a drop off or pick up in Kingston or Ottawa, please contact me with a reply to this email.

Donations might include paper, stickers, embellishments, etc. partially used or never touched, so long as you can envision a use for them by someone else. Also, tools that you don’t use (dollar store punches, for example). Small albums, paper albums, and blank cards might also be welcome. Adhesives and glue sticks. It doesn’t have to be only Creative Memories products, they will appreciate anything, I’m sure:)

I would like to collect everythings over the next three weeks and hopefully make a donation before Easter.

I’ll be in Kingston for the March 26 virtual crop. That would be a good time for me to pick up Kingston donations from Laura BB.

Thank you for considering Cornerstone for your donation. I know there are many organizations that can use our support right now.

Maria
